Although Jumaah prayers at ICCA are now available, according to the vast majority of contemporary scholars, Jumaah does not have to be attended by everyone just yet. ISA will LIVE Stream the Jumaah for those who cannot attend.
Sisters get more reward for praying at home. Anyone under 10 years old, anyone with underlying health conditions or anyone with symptoms (such as a temperature, coughing or sneezing) during the previous 14 days should pray at home.
There will be two sessions for Jumaah prayers. The first session at 1:30 pm is for adults with the last name staring with A-M. The second session at 2:15 pm is for adults with the last name starting N-Z. Although the last name is the primary method to try to even attendance between the two sessions, those that are only available during one session, that is the session they should attend. Experience has shown that more space is available during the second session, it is recommended that those that can wait until the second session, please attend the second session.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to prayer time to allow for prayer preparations and organization.
Jumaah will be held inside the Gym. The main ICCA doors will be closed. Brothers enter and exit from the school lobby. Sisters enter and exit from the side hall near the kitchen. Those coming for the second session, please wait in your car until everyone from the first session exits the building. Anyone coming after the first session spaces are full, will be asked to wait until the second session.
Social Distancing Requirements
Bring your own prayer rug
Wear face covering/mask
Staying 6 feet apart, at all times including entering and exiting the building
Minimal socializing, leave directly after prayer to clear the building for the second session
Anyone with health issues and/or having any symptoms in the previous 14 days, please pray at home.
To maintain cleanliness of the prayer area in the gym, shoes are to be removed in the school lobby. In order to prevent congestion at the door, the shoe rack will be placed near the school hall. Alternatively, everyone is encouraged to bring a plastic bag, and keep their shoes beside them in the gym prayer area.
Once the capacity of the prayer area has been reached, the doors to the lobby will be locked and people will be asked to wait in their car for the next Jumaah prayer session.
Remember to please make Wudo at home as Wudo and Restrooms will not be available inside the ICCA building.
ISA will continue to hold Jumaah and daily prayers at ICCA as long as everyone follows these requirements and the community’s public health is safe.
