The Learn English for Living Foundation will be offering a citizenship preparation course beginning September 15 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The classes are designed to help eligible immigrants pass the U.S. naturalization interview and examination. The 8-week Saturday afternoon course will be taught at The Islamic Community Center of Augusta, 1 Islamic Center Drive, Martinez, GA 30907.
The course focuses on learning U.S. history, government, and geography; understanding the rights and responsibilities of citizenship; preparing for the reading, writing, and speaking portions of the test; and getting ready for the interview.
In order to enroll, students must read, write and speak English at an intermediate level or higher. Prior to the course, students must take an English assessment test.
